Hello, my name is Jorden Hampton
I am a freelance journalist who can cover high school and college stories. I received my master’s degree in sports journalism at Arizona State University Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
About Me
I have covered games and written stories for Cronkite News and AZPreps 365, done freelance work for Gridiron Heroics, interned at the Semi-Professional College Sports Network, and worked as managing editor and editor-in-chief at the Courtbouillon newspaper at Dillard University.
My goal is to tell informative news and sports stories for a publication. My passion for journalism stems from allowing people to tell their stories and share those stories through the written medium.
News Packages
This package focuses on the lack of awareness of the student center at Arizona State University. I wrote the script, filmed the b-roll, and edited the package for my video boot camp class.
This package is about housing issues at HBCUS. I worked with my professor at Dillard University to craft a well-shot and well-organized news package.
This package focuses on the city of New Orleans bringing Mardi Gras back during the COVID-19 Pandemic. I got out of my comfort zone and filmed at a couple of parades. This is the first news package I have produced. It was produced at Dillard University.
